Bonding
---If you have ever been to the horse races than you will know what I mean. Even when you have only bet $2.00 on a horse you find yourself cheering on the horse at the finish line. If the horse wins…you win. If he loses you may feel that, also.
---You have somehow bonded yourself to the horse. For a time, you may even feel that the $2.00 has bought the horse in someway. It is easy to get caught up in the winning and losing.---We have natural bonds in our lives. Folks that we have already bonded with. Usually our mother, father, siblings, relatives, children, grandparents, girlfriends, boyfriends, spouses, etc. The bond is usually with someone we care about.
---When we bond with someone, we usually want the best for them. We are usually able to hear their needs. We, also, find there is great joy in fulfilling them. When we are in the presence of a good deed we experience the joy, too. I think that is one of the things Gandhi meant when he said ‘’100% effort is 100% reward.’’ This goes to all staff and volunteers…as well as residents. Give yourself a great gift this holiday season. ‘’Bond with someone.’’ Remember - The gift isn’t always in dollars and cents. You will be glad that you did. Be Well.
